UP BATANGAN is a duly-recognized organization in the University of the Philippines - Diliman. It is composed of UP students who come from the province of Batangas and who have responded to the call of service to their kababayans and fellow students.

Description

UP Batangan was formed on the 22nd of February 1976. It all started with gimmicks, nights-out, and Tuesday Clubs, which then led to the formation of Asosasyon ng mga Batangueñong Gwapo (ASBAG) - a group of no nonsense guys plus a gang of livewires and nerds and a group of gals from the Ilang-ilang Residence Hall.

UP Batangan was established as an academic and socio-civic organization composed of UP Diliman students who came from the province of Batangas. The organization embodies the ideals, enriches the welfare, and promotes the interests of its members, for the common good.

Since its founding in 1976, it has been consistently helping students, organization members, and fellow Batangueños. This is achieved through holding civic, academic, and social activities.

It has reaped recognition from the university with the distinction of most excellent student organization amongst many organizations in campus. UP Batangan carries the title Pinakamahusay na Organisasyon ng mga Estudyante for the year 2002.

The organization is still pursuing to accomplish its mission in the best of its abilities. In the years to come, UP Batangan wishes to continue and improve its line of service—for this will remain its mission.
